It features nine women between the ages of 13 and 60 who believe in the mission of True, and are participating not as actors, but as fellow sojourners toward freedom from eating and body image issues (read their stories on our “Speak” page). The Dove Campaign for Real Beauty has produced some of the best videos on the web dealing with issues of beauty. This is a classic.
Rebecca from the recording group Barlow Girl shares about her struggle with an eating disorder and how a growing sense of identity leads to freedom.
While there are some things about this film that you may find objectionable, including graphic language, it does a great job of challenging the messages of our culture, and of revealing the startling downsides of buying into such messages.
