Instructions for changing the Desktop Wallpaper on your computer:

Windows:

  • Right click your mouse anywhere on the desktop. A small menu will pop up.
  • Click on Properties [This will be personalize on vista] to open the Display Properties screen will open.
  • Select the Desktop tab, if using Windows XP. Windows 98 users can select the Background tab.
  • Choose a background. On the lower left half of the Display Properties Window, you will see Background (Win XP) or Wallpaper (Win 98). You can choose a background from the long menu list by clicking on the background/wallpaper design you want.
  • Click Apply. The background you selected will appear in the preview monitor in the Display Properties screen.
  • Click OK to close the Display Properties Window.

  • Choosing a Custom Background
  • Navigate to the Display Properties window, as shown above.
  • Click on Browse and select My Pictures (Windows XP). If you use Windows 98, go to Look in: "C" drive, then choose Documents, and go to your photo folders.
  • Select an image/photo you want to use.
  • Click Open. The image or background you selected will appear on the preview monitor in the Display Properties Window.
  • Click on Apply and the image or background will appear on your desktop.
  • Click OK to close the Display Properties Window.

  • Mac:
  • Open iPhoto.
  • Drag the image to "Photos" in the top left of the window under the word "Libraries".
  • Once the image has been imported, select it by clicking once on it (a yellow border appears).
  • Click on the "Set Desktop" image in the bottom right of the window.
